3 Day Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 1. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stop at the Equator

The drive takes you through some scenic parts of the country, with a first stop at the Equator. Then proceeding through the small farms and villages of Buganda, passing Masaka towards Mbarara. After some time the landscape changes into the open grassy undulating hills of the Ankole cattle country. Lunch is in Mbarara and then, after lunch, you will reach the mountainous area of the escarpment in the Rift Valley, en route stop at one of the tea plantation along the way to take photos before descending to the low plains of the national park at the bottom of the rift.

Dinner and overnight at Bush lodge.

Day 2. Game drives and boat-launch

The program starts at day-break with a game-drive in the Kasenyi area of the Uganda kob mating ground where lions often are seen. The area also holds many other animals and birds, like water bucks, buffalos, elephants, and many more animals and birds. After a break at the Kasenyi salt crater you will return for lunch,

In the afternoon go for a boat-launch on the Kazinga channel. This boat-launch is one of the highlights of most safaris as there are so many birds, hippo, crocodile, buffalos, elephants.

Dinner and overnight at Bush lodge.

Day 3. Drive via the Rwenzori and Fort Portal

You may have an option of doing an early shorter game-drive in the morning, or taking it easy and leaving after a relaxed breakfast, or alternatively, you may opt for an early chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura Gorge (extra option). The drive passes near the Rwenzoris, the highest mountain range in Africa with peaks of more than 5.000 metres above sea-level, and with glaciers. These peaks are usually hidden by clouds but may sometimes be seen. Lunch is in Fort Portal and from there the drive continues via Mubende and Mpigi to Kampala/Entebbe where you will be dropped at your hotel.
